Recap: NYRR Night at the Races Meet 3Published by
New York, February 19, 2015 – Reigning New Balance Nationals Outdoor champion in the 400m, Zola Golden, was one of the big winners of the third NYRR Night at the Races. The Gotham Spark Athletic Club representative, who is in her senior year of high school, crossed the line in 38.57 to win the women’s 300m. “I sprained my ankle a few weeks ago and that set me back in training,” said Zola. “So I’m just trying to get out her, race and build back my speed endurance for nationals in March.” Jesse Carlin of Pacers New Balance was able to record a win in the 600m (1:32.02) ahead of Stephanie Herrick of Central Park Track Club New Balance (1:34.00). Five days after competing in the NYRR Wanamaker Mile at the NYRR Millrose Games, Kyle Merber of NJNY-TC, won the 800m in 1:49.34. Shawn Roberts, also of NJNY-TC took a close second in 1:49.98.
